An anceint and historical town which was named on its first resident Malik Meero. The forefathers of which belong to Arab then they migrated to Pind Dadan Khan afterwards they came to Ichhra, Lahore and Malik Meero resided here after his migration from Ichhra, Lahore. His ful name was Malik Ameerudin Khan. Then heir successor streched themselves to 4 different villages in its suburb. Those were Chak Ali, Malikpur, Mardana and Nangal Waris Khan except Merowal. They were "Rajpoot" by caste and thier subcaste was "Khokhar". Their Family Tree is said to have link with "Hazrat Abbas (RA)" through "Hazrat Ali(KA)". All the Rajpoot residents now living there are their successors. This village used to have been the trade center of this area but now the situation is very desperate, but sitll the in the days of Muharam and on Urs of Moulana Moh Azam Sm, the resurrection is worthy of being visited. A very special note to be highlited here is that Haji Tajammal Hussain(+92-300-9492012) has the whole "Shijra Nasab"(Family Tree) of Merowal Till Malik Meero.
