Lac McConnell (McConnell Lake) is really a functioal part of the Ottawa River with water flowing into it from the McConnell Lake dam at its west end. A local favourite for ice fishing in winter. Accessible by the free public boat launch located adjacent to the Camping McConnell campground. Caution must be exercised in boating on this lake due to the possibility of sudden surges of water resulting from changes to the water flow from the McConnell dam. There is a buoy barricade at the west end of the lake to prevent boaters from entering the channel that leads to the dam since sudden changes in water flow and water levels can render this area very danferous. Lands on the north shore of the lake lie within the ZEC Rapides des Joachims.
