island, atoll
Kili Atoll, or more accurately, Kili island, is an isolated island in the Marshall Islands. There is no lagoon, just an encircling reef. Less than 1 sq km in area, it is the temporary home of about 600 inhabitants who are descended from islanders who originally lived on Bikini Atoll. Prior to their arrival in November 1948, the island was uninhabited. It does not produce enough food for the residents, who have to import food.
