Artificial reservoir located in the Maule Region, Chile. It is the largest of its kind in this country. It covers an area of 5,700 ha and a capacity of 1,490 million m³.
It was built with the aim of keeping the river Maule, for use in hydroelectric and agricultural irrigation.
For its clear water, and warmth during the summer months, is also widely used for water sports
