Luxury hotel made up of five historic palaces which at one time belonged the the illustrious Tiepolo family in Venice. Two of the city’s Doges and the painter Giambattista Tiepolo of the 17th century were of this family.

The palaces were converted to the Hotel Barbesi in 1868. It was renamed the Hotel Britannia in 1881. It was sold to CIGA in 1938 and renamed the Hotel Europa & Britannia.

A smaller palace was constructed adjacent to the Palazzo Tiepolo in the mid 1800s and soon became the Hotel de Rome et Pension Suisse. It was sold to the forerunner of CIGA in 1900 and soon after renamed the Hotel Regina.

CIGA ran the adjoining Hotel Europa and Hotel Regina separately until 1976, when they were united into the Hotel Europa & Regina. The hotel was renamed The Westin Europa & Regina in 2000, then The St. Regis Venice in 2019.
