Galileo's last home (Florence)

In this Villa Galileo spent his last years. After his inquisition, in Jan 1638 he had petitions the Inquisition to be freed as he had lost his vision. The petition was denied. He was, however, allowed to transfer to this house in a village, Arcetri, (pronounced Aarchetri) south of Florence in order to be closer to his physicians.
He died in dies in this house four years later on 8 January 1642.
The house has a nice bust of Galileo and bears no. 42 and Villa Galileo is displayed.
