This is one of the domiciliary Indian mound in the Tennessee Valley area. It measures 43 feet high, with a summit that is almost 1500 AGL feet². The mound was created by a pre-historic tribe of Indians before the Cherokees, Chickasaws and the Creek Indians came to Alabama.The great mound, called "Wawmanona" by the Indians, was the home to the local chief or spiritual man.
