The Courthouse was erected in 1881 and rebuilt in 1891 following a fire that destroyed much of the building. It displays a robust architectural expression of both Italinate and Greek Revival influence. This stately building houses county government and serves as a centerpiece of the surrounding Tuscumbia National Register Historic District.
