The Al Majaz Waterfront Project, proudly created and developed by Shurooq, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, is an expansion and beautification of the existing park, going above and beyond merely extending greenery in order to enhance this family-friendly leisure area, a waterfront landmark of Sharjah. Situated between Jamal Abdul Nasser Street and the Khalid Lagoon Corniche, the final 231,000 sqm park is being completely re-developed to include leisure and recreational areas, including six new buildings housing international restaurants and cafes with exquisite for an ideal venue for breakfast, lunch or dinner or even a business meeting against this picture-perfect backdrop of the musical cybernetic Sharjah Fountain, a key feature of the project

At over 20 years old, the park has long been a popular destination for residents of Sharjah and is home to a splendid mosque. The Al Majaz Waterfront project seeks to capitalise on the park’s role as a social hub by diversifying what it offers, including a new special area for children including new, safe games as well as commissioning notable names from the international design world to create new landscapes for the park

The project will be implemented in two phases, with the first opened to the public in late 2011. The park, directly linked to Khalid Lagoon, includes a jogging track, picnic areas, day care centre, sculpture and art parks, splash park and Mini Golf course, among others.
