  I lived in Machinato - Naha from 1954 - 57 . I attended Sukuran Elementary ,which was new and Kubasaki Jr. High School ,which was a mega collection of Quonset huts out near White Beach . My dad was an Army Captain in the Ordnance Corp. in Machinato . My mother worked at the Port of Naha. Many typhoons , vacations at Okuma , yakisoba ! Good times!
