Devoted to Shri Mahamayi Mata the temple carries a great historic tales with itself.
The temple is located on the top of a small hill on the bank of Kethan Dam. The temple provides a scenic and mesmerizing view of the Dam and make you feel like visiting an island.
The temple is also known as Daang Wali Mata, here "Daang" refers to the shrubs and woods, becuase of unavailability of surfaced road earlier; pilgrimages used to cross the same to reach the temple, therefore the name comes so.
In the ancient times the temple had only a small stone structure, with the passage of time and efforts of devotees it has now converted into a huge premise supported with gardens and other facilities.
On the occasion of Chaitra Navaratra which also marks the beginning of Hindu New Year, the temple is adorned like a bride with large amount of lightnings and other decorations. Throughout the 9 days of festival a fair is also organized and religious programs and discourses are conducted. The 10th day(Dushehra) is of "Bhandara" which is a huge feast for the devotees by the devotees. Thousands of people visit the temple and witness the fair during the 10 days period.
The favor of face changing renovation and management of the temple certainly goes to efforts of Mr Laxmikant Sharma (serving as a Cabinet Minister in Shivraj Singh Chouhan M.P. Govt).
