The Boerentoren (English: Farmers' Tower), also known now as the KBC Tower, was completed in 1932 to the Art-Deco design of Jan Van Hoenacker.

The "Farmers' Tower" got its name from the large agricultural clientele of the building's original corporate occupant, Kredietbank. The successor company of Kredietbank, the KBC Group, uses the building up to today.

Initially 87.5 meters tall, and raised to 97 meters in the 1970s, the Boerentoren is the second tallest building in Antwerp (after the cathedral tower, located ~300m to the northwest)

It is sometimes considered the first "skyscraper" in Europe, though this claim is disputed.
