Scotchtown is a hamlet and census designated place in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York and in Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area which is in the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. The original site of the Woodstock Festival until it was banned by the town of Wallkill. The festival was moved to Bethel. At the 2010 census the population was 9,212. ZIP code: 10941
