New Lebanon is a town in Columbia County, New York, U.S. The population was 2,305 at the 2010 census. Home of the Mt. Lebanon Shaker community in the 1800s. Youth home and burial place of Samuel Tilden, NY Governor and candidate in the 1876 presidential election, Tilden received 50.9 percent of the popular vote but received only 184 electoral votes while Rutherford B. Hayes received 185.
