Oostmalle is a village in the Belgian province of Antwerp and a sub-municipality of Malle. Oostmalle was an independent municipality until the municipal reorganization of 1977.
Oostmalle takes its name from its origins as a hamlet to the east of Malle. In 1194, Oostmalle received its own parish, which remained dependent on the St. Martin's parish of Malle. At that time Malle belonged to the county of Toxandria.
Because of the name of this newly formed hamlet "Oostmalle", the village of Malle gradually came to be known as "Westmalle".
