bank, place with historical importance
Originally main branch of Syracuse Savings Bank. Now the main downtown branch of BA after many mergers and acquisitions. A beautiful Victorian structure that was once the most prominent landmark in Syracuse, the Syracuse Savings Bank Building (as it is still known) continues to have a dominant presence in Clinton Square, recalling the "glory days" of Syracuse's past as the central stop on the Erie Canal.
Built in 1876 and designed by Joseph Lyman Silsbee, a significant mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright.
