Address: 391721, Ryazan Oblast, Mikhaylov District, Oktyabrsky
Commissioning year: 1963
Capacity: 1.8 million tons per year
Phone/fax: (+7 49156) 2-11-56
EUROCEMENT Group purchased this plant when it had already been idling for 1.5 years. The plant was not able to adapt to market conditions on its own—it used fuel oil, and as the result, its cement was 50% more expensive than that from gas-fueled plants. The Group acquired the plant mainly because it understood the strong potential that was not explored by the previous management—geographical proximity to a giant Moscow construction market and abundant reserves of high-quality raw materials.
The plant was promptly restructured and switched from fuel oil to natural gas.
The first of the four kilns was started in March 1997, and the plant continued producing cement. By the end of 1998, two kilns were switched to gas. In 2001, the plant was using three kilns, and in March 2002, for the first time in 10 years, Mikhaylovcement started using all four kilns.
Soap base, compressor and transporter bodies and gears got replaced; raw material storage, weighing stations and silos got reconstructed. Currently, the plant is busy with upgrading heavy-load transport and quarry machinery as well as implementing commercial and technical fuel and energy consumption control systems.
ZAO Mikhaylovcement has received the Russkoye Kachestvo (Russian Quality) Honorary Award, which is the best proof of the high quality of its products.
The plant produces PC -500 D0, PC-400 D0 and PC-400 D20 grades of cement.
