green area, historic ruins
A Byzantine Rite Eastern Catholic (sometimes called Greek Catholic, but not Greek Orthodox) church or, in Polish, cerkiew. Parish probably founded in 1848 and church built 1861 (per inscription above church door). Originally part of the Eparchy of Peremyshl (Polish: Przemysl), became part of the Lemko Apostolic Administration 1934-1946. Abandoned 1947 when all Lemkos in the area were forcibly deported to northern or western Poland. Now in ruins with only the brick walls remaining and a few graves in the churchyard.
