The hospital complex has capacity for 240 beds on a site area of 80,000 m2, with a total floor area of about 23,000 m2 and an overall volume of 77,800 m3. rnThe structure was formed entirely of reinforced concrete and the ground floor has an enclosed area of 5,460 m2 where the visitors? foyer, emergency services, staff changing rooms, sisters accommodation, pharmacy, kitchen, laundry and canteen are located. The upper floor has the largest useable area (more than 16,000 m2), accommodating the various medical departments and wards, consulting rooms, laboratories and a total of eight operating theatres divided amongst the various specialist departments. Externally, close to the entrance, a two-level covered car park was constructed, in fair-faced reinforced concrete.
