It is located in the Solomensky Raion between railroad and following streets vulytsia Ostrovskoho, vulytsia Petrozavodska, provulok Stadionyi and vulytsia Furmanova. It is adjacent to such localities as the Cadet Grove and Solomenka. Part of the area next to railroad (along vulytsia Polzunova) in the 19th century figured as the Bold Hill. The Railway colony was established in 1860s as a settlement of railroad workers in the process of construction of the Kiev railroad station. In 1980s significant portion of the old residential area was torn down (except for the quarters between streets Lukashevycha and Furmanova), while its former territory was redeveloped.
