This historical site is now a museum, but was one of the focal point of the famous Lincoln County War (the other being the McSween house), a feud between merchants John Tunstall and his partner Alexander McSween, and rival Dolan and Company. The war began with the murder of Tunstall and ended with the murder of McSween.
