The Mico-Leão-Preto Ecological Station is a federal conservation unit divided into four plots. This Ecological Station is formed by the four remaining of Pontal do Paranapanema Great Reserve, created in 1941, but all cleared by the action of squatters. The glebe of Ponte Branca (White Bridge, in English) has 1.306ha. Only in this plot there confirmed the presence of the black lion tamarin (mico-leão-preto, in Portuguese), as well as some nearby forest remains. It made a huge effort for the recovery of these areas as to connect with the other glebes, since their isolation. Despite these problems, yet we observe endangered animals. In this plot, in particular, was seen the jaguar.
