This station closed in 2001 with the opening of a new direct alignment of the Moscow - St Petersburg railway which obviated the need for the "Verebye loop" (originally constructed because difficult terrain made the direct crossing of a ravine near here too steep for early locomotives). The rails on the loop have now been lifted.
