Municipality in the province of Sancti Spiritus, located in the eastern portion of it, in the 21 ° 56 'north latitude and 79 ° 10' west longitude. LIMITS: North, the city of Ciego de Avila Yaguajay and, to the East, Ciego de Avila, on the south, the municipality of La Sierpe, to the west, the towns of Taguasco, Sancti Spiritus and La Sierpe. PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY: located in the Highlands of Santa Clara, the main elevations of the municipality are in the Lomas de Arroyo Blanco with 268 meters to the south lies the plain of Sancti Spiritus. Its current most important river is the Rio Jatibonico South, which dam water into the reservoir Lebrije. Predominantly brown soils with carbonates and hydromorphic. ECONOMY (1995): agriculture and livestock 58.7% of agricultural land and forest land 3.4%, compared to the total area. Sugarcane is grown 82.4%. It is operated cattle.
