Built 1895-1898 it was the Martyr's Public School and designed partly by Charles Rennie Mackintosh - which is obvious from the design of the windows - when he was working for Honeyman & Keppie in his early career.
Later it was an Annexe for St. Mungo's Academy, before that institution moved to the Calton area in the 1970s. Today part of the building is a museum, the rest offices for Glasgow Museums.
