Old Baldy

Named by the kids that used to play there, this small hill was a place for the neighborhood kids to go sledding. The face of the hill exceeded 75 degrees in portions.

  • Yes, this is the site of "Old Baldy", but it has since been converted into a subdivision. "Old Baldy" is just a memory.... (sniff, sniff)
  • Indeed...back in the late 1960s (before the expressway was built) it was a great place for a bike or a motor bike to ride around in the summer.
  • My name is Rick Ellson, I grew up at 645 Porterville Rd and named our skiing hill "old Baldy. I named it after a hill in Pennsylvania. Spent many great times on Old Baldy before moving on to Emmery Park, big time, a rope tow!!!
