Former Semi Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) Direction Center (DC-14) for the Sault Sainte Marie Air Defense Sector as part of the SAGE air defense system. Officially operational on 15 June 1960, the new 4-story facility was equipped with dual AN/FSQ-7 Computers, offered 3.5 acres of floor space and were hardened to withstand explosive overpressures of" 5 psi (34 kPa) in the event of enemy attack.

Responsible for the monitoring, tracking, vectoring and interception duties within the Sault Sainte Marie Air Defense Sector, the facility remained operational for six years before being inactivated on December 1963 to standby status. The facility was formally closed on April 1 1966 with the deactivation of the ADC consolidation and reorganization.
