  • The only public boat launch is at the south end of the lake, at Lake Sammamish State Park.
  • Each summer for one weekend, there are hydroplane races. The park has many walkways, paved and otherwise. Good place to walk your dog. People come here to walk dogs, jog, birdwatch, kayak, fish, and boat. Schools use the park for track and field meets. There are several events during the year, with food booths, boats, animals, etc. You can easily spot several kinds of ducks. There are, of course, Canadian Geese. As well, there is a great blue heron rookery at the back of the park, and you can spot these beautiful birds flying over Issaquah. There is also a family of bald eagles living in the park. They like to perch in a large, old cottonwood that is right on the water. When walking the paths, you can often see one or more there.
