A gated alcove in the front (street-facing) side of the Ute Chief bottling plant contains a cistern for a spring, historically known as the "Ute Chief Magnetic Spring".

Although the spring reportedly still flows, the water is not currently accessible from the alcove, and drains by way of a pipe into Fountain Creek.

The Magnetic Spring is a drilled spring, drilled circa 1905 to increase the supply of water for the (previous) bottling plant. Before the current bottling plant was built, the Magnetic Spring was covered by an octogonal open-air pavilion. (This should not be confused with a different octogonal pavilion that covered the nearby Hiawatha Spring.)
