The intersection of Manitou and Ruxton Avenues is known locally as "The Loop". The name originally referred to a turnaround loop in a streetcar track that existed just to the southeast of the street intersection in the early 20th century, but gained new currency in 2009 when the intersection was converted to a roundabout.
