Picket Post House

Completed in 1928, this was the mansion of Colonel Boyce Thompson, founder and namesake of the nearby arboretum. From 1946 until 2008, this was a private residence and part-time bed and breakfast, known as "Castle on the Rock". It has since been reacquired by the State of Arizona and is now part of the arboretum once more.
