This section of the Mulholland Highway is popularly known as "The Snake" and attracts a large number of motorcycle and car enthusiasts to its challenging turns as it rises from east to west. On weekends there are a number of vehicles congregated at the two endpoints (especially The Rock Store just to the east and the Lookout on the western end) with all sorts of vehicle enthusiasts, the California Highway Patrol, and various photographers.
