The Fish Lake Interchange is the name given to the split of eastbound Interstate 94 into the southbound Interstate 494 and eastbound Interstate 694 spur routes around the twin cities. I94 itself continues east with 694 for a few miles before turning south toward Minneapolis separately. This interchange causes notoriously slow traffic during both the morning and evening rush hours, backing traffic in the morning as far north as Rogers and in the afternoon south beyond Bass Lake Road and east beyond Highway 169.
