State-owned hotel built in 1966. The original building with the arched windows operated as the Inter-Continental Dacca until the management contract switched to ITT Sheraton in 1983. Operated as the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel from 1983 under a 25-year contract, with a number of extensions after that contract ended in 2008, until April 2011. The modern addition at the corner was added in the late 1990s while the hotel was under management by Sheraton. Operated as the Ruposhi Bangla Hotel from 2011 until closing for renovations. Reopened as InterContinental in 2018. The hotel features larger than usual guestrooms, an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a deli, bar, and the Intercontinental Club Lounge. Business facilities include a business center, ballroom, convention center, and multiple meeting rooms. Guests are also able to access the hotel's health club, spa and pool.
