The Mt Coot-tha Quarry has been operational since 1919 and is a highly regarded resource point for blue-grey rock for road and building purposes. The quarry itself sits on approximately 30 hectares and produces more than 400,000 tonnes of asphalt aggregate
each year.
The high quality aggregate produced at the quarry is used by Brisbane City Council for their roads. Using materials produced at this central location reduces the carbon footprint of road projects as materials are easily and efficiently transported
around the city, rather than being trucked over long distances from quarries located on the city’s fringe.
