This is quite an interesting spot, must say, since its construction in 1985 this park has been the center of most cultural activities in the capital of Meta department (department is the term used in Colombia for a state), Villavicencio.

This park is surrounded by (1) the Justice Palace; (2) the Coliseo Los Conquistadores, the biggest, oldest and most important coliseum in the city; (3) the Jose Eustacio Rivera Sports Center; and (4) the San Fernando community, one of the oldest and smallest neighborhoods in the city, and home of the campus of the Universidad del Meta.

This park has a display of all flags of the states in the country, centered by the flag of Colombia, from there its name of Parque de Banderas (the Flags Park). This is a mandatory spot for tourists followed by the Parque Santander de Villavicencio (Central Park) and the Parque Los Libertadores (Liberators Park, in honor to the independence leaders in Colombia).
