The Greater Church overlooking the square known as "dial" that appears when you enter in the Sanctuary of La Verna.
The construction of the Church or Basilica Maggiore occurred during the fourteenth century and lasted until the next century with the addition of decorative architectural elements.
The interior has a single nave with side chapels, the Renaissance style including the "Chapel of the Immaculate Conception or Relics", which contains items that belonged to St. Francis of Assisi.
Along the right side of the church you can admire the fine glazed terracotta by Andrea della Robbia (1435-1525), including one located on the first altar, depicting a "Madonna and Child Enthroned with Saints Francis, Mary of Egypt, and Anthony Onofrio ", and housed at the kiosk and portraying an" Adoration of the Child and Angels with the Lord of Cherubim. "
