During the open land, the general headquarters of Phu Yen to defend as Van Phong, Nguyen Phuc Vinh are stationed here. By rugged terrain and the sea-gate is open so where is the communication hub outside of Phu Yen, as outposts to prevent harassment of military Champa.

Because of its strategic location is important to the bay where the decisive battle took place between military strategy and the Tay Son Nguyen. That event in 1775 when Gen. Tong Phuoc Hiep Nguyen Lords to mobilize the entire army to attack the Tay Son troops stationed here.

During World War II, in April 1945, the Imperial Japanese Navy entered the bay to failure as a springboard to invade deep into the mainland but were Allied aircraft fire shot.
