The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is a convention centre located in Perth. It opened on the 24th August 2004. It is located on the Swan River river foreshore, it is only a short walk from the Perth CBD.

Plaque situated at Entrance reads:

The occasion of the opening of the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. This plaque was unveiled on 26 August 2004 by the Honourable Dr Geoff Gallop, MLA, Premier of Western Australia.

The Centre is WA's only purpose built convention, exhibition and meeting centre. It can cater for functions of up to 5000 delegates.

The Centre was constructed in the expectation of attracting increased convention bookings for Perth and subsequently tourism for the state. Previously Perth lacked any facility with the capacity that the Centre has.

It is jocularly referred to as 'The Hay Shed', because of its flat and extended design, and many question its bland and unimaginative architecture. Its positioning is entirely above the former north east corner of the Perth Water, the old shore line of the Swan River being further north of the structure.
