Petersen House (Stockholm)

The Petersen House was being built 1659 by Regner Leuhusen, who was the governor of the Royal Castle. The double portal facing Munkbron has his Coat if Arms in top.
The house was designed by Christian Julius Döteber in renaissance style with the gables in German-Dutch style. Already during the construction of the house it was sold to Queen Kristina who donated it to Adolf Johan af Pfalz. A number of nobel families later owned the house until King Adolf Fredrik bought it in 1753 to be used by his newly established corps de cadette. In 1757 the merchantman Herman Petersen bougth the house from the king and it has remaind in his family ever since. They have also given the house its name.
During 1873 - 1875 the house was renovated and got the present day apperance.
