This is the place where currently the MTech boys stay. This is named after Meghnad Saha, the great Indian astrophysicist best known for his development of the Saha equation, used to describe chemical and physical conditions in stars. He was also the chief architect of river planning in India. He prepared the original plan for the Damodar Valley Project. Meghnad Saha’s ionization equation (c. 1920), which opened the door to stellar astrophysics was one of the top ten achievements of 20th century Indian science and, according to Jayant Narlikar, could be considered in the Nobel Prize class.

This is a wonderful place. The pond opposite to it and the adjacent playground takes your mind away from the din and bustle of the city which is not far at all.

The building is not well maintained. There are wide cracks in the columns which support some of the middle rooms. Some boarders are apprehensive that this can cause a serious catastrophe any moment. There are problems of theft and in the year 2009 many students lost their precious laptops even though their rooms were locked. After this menace crossed considerably the thresholds of tolerance, the students staged a protest and as a result there were some security arrangement which seems to have deterred the thieves and/or their informers.
