This settlement was built when Saddam's army destroyed the Kurdish villages to the east of Sulaymaniya. The viligers built houses beside the main road between Sulaymania, and Tasluja town to avoid being shelled by Iraqi artilery and air strikes.
Saddam's Regime named this settlement Alqadisiya, to further insult the kurds by using this name which refers to the battle between the Arab army and the Persians when the moslems occupied Iraq.
