Klosterparken (Monastery Park) (Enköping)

In the Monastery park the remains of the Franciscan cloister building can still be seen. It was the Franciscan monks who founded the monastery during the 14th century on the former island in the town estuary. The building was pulled down in the 17th century but in the 1930s excavations revealed the remains of the monastery . Towards the end of the 1980s an extensive renovation of the park area was undertaken.
