Vårfrukyrkan (The Church of Our Lady) is one of the oldest surviving churches in Sweden, dating from the early twelfth century. The nave and cross arms were part of the original building. It was substantially extended in the fourteenth century. In the nineteenth century the current central tower was raised. In the early part of the twentieth century the interior paintings of Karl-Wilhelm Pettersson were added.
