First mentioned in the records in 1425, Prielau castle was restructured to its present appearance in 1560. Since 1978 the castle is a hotel and gourmet restaurant. The 10 rooms and suites are decorated in a style very typical of Austrian country homes, coupled with all the comforts of an international 4-star hotel.The castle offers wellness amenities such as a sauna, steam bath and massage, along with a private beach for the hotel’s guests at the lake just 200 metres away, two 18-hole golf courses 5 minutes away, a shuttle to the ski slopes of the Europa Sports Region, in-house bicycle and ski rentals.
The hotel’s gourmet restaurant, in which the owner, Andreas Mayer, cooks up amazing dishes himself every evening, counts itself amongst Austria’s top-ten restaurants, having also been awarded 2 stars by the Guide Michelin.
