The nine-hole golf course of Golf Club Gut Ising, architecturally designed by the former German master Thomas Himmel, lies between old trees and the adjacent polo area of Gut Ising. From here the golfers have a view over the silhouette of the village of Ising to the surrounding woods and the nearby Alps.
The place offers a successful combination of different golf holes. Three water obstacles do not only represent a playful challenge, but are also optically very delightful. Five holes lead across a rather flat area and four holes over a hilly surface, whereby the 8th hole (Par 5) entices long hitters with a dog leg around a beautiful and impressive oak tree, followed by 512 meters to the "tiger line". The greens, on the average 400 square meters wide, require precise tee offs. Precision is generally the order of the day because the sometimes narrow fair ways and adjacent "Out of Bounds" areas permit only minimal deviations from the ideal line. Occasional water ensures variety time and again and requires strategically intelligent play. The large driving range with spectacular views of the Alps is also very appealing.
