Fortress Grauerort

It was built by the Prussians between 1869 and 1879 to protect Stade from enemy ships on the Elbe. Grauerort is a typical example of Prussian fortification architecture. Today cultural and other events take place here. (description taken from www.stade-tourismus.de)
