The Peter Tamm Museum is the largest privately held martime museum in the world. This multi-room mansion is filled from basement to attic with scale models of all sizes and one of the largest if not THE largest collection of oil paintings by German artist Bodo Herzog. The museum is home to many priceless artifacts such as one of only two bejeweled batons which belonged to Grand Admiral Karl Donitz. There is also an AMAzing collection of military uniforms. The museum is open only by appointment. Note: the East German Navy torpedo/patrol boat on display on the museum's south side.
