  • Jumpiing-off point for jeep tours of the National Park and for boat trips down river. These are all-day adventures. Dune field is (very) white sand, no shade, cool fresh-water pools amongst the dunes - 3 to 10 feet deep. Take plenty of sun screen and umbrellas. A half-hour jeep ride into the park, cross a river on a ferry. Spend 2 hours or more at the dunes. Jeeps start along the river in town.
