In 1943 the Waffen-SS started to construction large SS military training ground »Kurmark«. In long-range planning it should accruing the biggest military training area for the Waffen-SS in Europe. They used prisoners from the subcamp, KL Lieberose, near the village of Jamlitz, niknamed »Lieberose labour camp«.
